Το συνολικό όνομα του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου είναι: «Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο της Μεγάλης Βρετανίας, Βόρειας Ιρλανδίας και του Berwick-upon-Tweed». Το τελευταίο είναι μια πολύ μικρή πόλη στα σύνορα με την Σκωτία, την οποία διεκδικούσε ο βασιλιάς των Σκωτσέζων επί μακρόν. Η πόλη αυτή μάλιστα ήταν επίσημα σε εμπόλεμη κατάσταση με την Γερμανία, μέχρι το 1987 επειδή ο Tσόρτσιλ κήρυξε τον πόλεμο με το συνολικό όνομα του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου, αλλά στην συνθήκη συνθηκολόγησης ξεχάστηκε να αναγραφεί.
