Το Βατικανό «φωτίστηκε» οικολογικά

Το μεγαλύτερο χριστουγεννιάτικο δέντρο που έχει ποτέ τοποθετηθεί στην πλατεία του Αγίου Πέτρου στη Ρώμη άναψε το Σάββατο και όπως τόνισαν αξιωματούχοι του Βατικανού το δέντρο θα ανακυκλωθεί για να κατασκευαστούν παιχνίδια για τα φτωχά παιδιά.

Το ύψους 33 μέτρων δέντρο που προέρχεται από δάση της νότιας Αυστρίας, άναψε στη διάρκεια τελετής κάτω από τη βροχή, που έχει προκαλέσει την άνοδο των υδάτων του Τίβερη στο υψηλότερο επίπεδο των τελευταίων δεκαετιών.

Το Βατικανό ανακοίνωσε πως από το ξύλο του δέντρου, ηλικίας 120 ετών, θα κατασκευαστούν παιχνίδια για παιδιά που είναι φτωχά και έπιπλα εξωτερικού χώρου για σχολεία και παιδικούς σταθμούς.

Η απόφαση ανακύκλωσης του ξύλου εντάσσεται στις προσπάθειες του Βατικανού να δείξει έναν οικολογικό χαρακτήρα.

Τον περασμένο μήνα εγκαταστάθηκαν στην οροφή κτιρίων του Βατικανού ηλιακοί συλλέκτες
