Η κρίση αναζωογονεί στις ΗΠΑ την έρευνα για ηλεκτροκίνητα αυτοκίνητα
 

Πρόγραμμα για την έρευνα και ανάπτυξη ηλεκτροκίνητων αυτοκινήτων εξήγγειλε ο πρόεδρος των ΗΠΑ Μπαράκ Ομπάμα, με παράλληλο στόχο την ενίσχυση της -βαριά χτυπημένης από την κρίση- αμερικανικής αυτοκινητοβιομηχανίας.
Η αμερικανική κυβέρνηση σκοπεύει να επενδύσει 2,4 δισ. δολάρια στα ηλεκτροκίνητα οχήματα και το σχέδιο θα καλύπτει όλα τα στάδια παραγωγής τους: από τις μπαταρίες μέχρι τους κινητήρες.
Η ανακοίνωση έγινε κατά την επίσκεψη του Μπ.Ομπάμα στην Ιντιάνα -πολιτεία που είδε τα ποσοστά ανεργίας της να εκτοξεύονται μετά την περικοπή αρκετών θέσεων εργασίας σε εργοστάσια αυτοκινήτων.
